5 Skin Routines You Need to Start Now

Face it, we all have days for we may fall asleep with our make up on or “forget” to put on moisturizer after a face wash. Here are 5 Skin Routines You Need to Start Now.

Beauty

  1. Cleanse your skin and cleanse it often: Don’t waste the money on some fancy $70 face wash, head to your local drug store and get a good cleansing face wash. Avoid bar soaps because they’re known for drying out skin, especially your face. My personal favorite is the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub. Not only does it smell amazing (think refreshing citrus) but it exfoliates your skin as well.
  2. Use a good moisturizer: Moisturizers help lock water into your skin, this can help reduce future wrinkles by keeping your skin hydrated. If your skin ever feels tight, apply a moisturizer and watch it transform back to normal. My current favorite is actually, the Olay Active Hydrating Cream. It makes my skin feel so soft!
  3. Wear Sunscreen: Yes, we all  most  want to have that summer glow but the damage the sun can & will do to your skin is irreversible. Get yourself in the routine of wearing sunscreen & using your favorite bronzer to give you that beautiful face “tan”. You’ll be happy when you are still wrinkle free in the future!
  4. Drink your daily dose of water: Yes, we are back to the theme of hydration! Water is essential to your bodies success. Be sure to be giving your body the tools you need to be healthy by drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water today. Do it every day and within a week or so you will feel the difference!
  5. Keep your lips moist: The winter months can be absolutely dreadful to your lips. Buy a chapstick & use it often. We’re talking hourly often. This will help lock in the moisture and get your lips back to their normal selves.

Great tips! My skin is crazy and gets oily in the winter – so once a week I need to use a mask to help with that – and amen to the lips! Winter just kills ‘em!

Amen to the sunscreen! A few people close to me have survived skin cancer so I completely am an advocate for proper sun protection!

Love this Michelle. Taking care of your skin is so important. It’s never to early to start looking after it. I love Origins and Bare Minerals skin care. Body shop also has some fabulous ones. I try and use organic as much as possible.

I follow all of these, my Mum taught me young the importance of looking after my skin. I drink about 3-4 litres of water a day (seriously it is like an obsession lol) and slather my skin in moisturiser. The only bad habits I have are not enough sleep and use face wipes way too often to remove my makeup, I suppose it is good that I am removing it though even though I am doing it with those harsh wipes? Thanks for sharing these tips :)

You are so lucky you started young! I went throughout high school without taking care of my skin as well as I should have. I use makeup face wipes ALOT too.

True. I just hate sunscreen though. I feel like I have an extra layer of gunk on my face. I know I’m going to regret this in my latter years, but I just hate the feel of it.
