Too often when we think of good natural skincare, we often forget about our hands and tend to focus more on our faces. However, our hands probably receive far more abuse than even the skin on our face. That’s why I like to make sure that I have make homemade lotion that will take care of the skin on my hands as well. I’d like to share those with you right now.
Wonderful Homemade Hand Lotion
As always, you can buy all of these ingredients at any health food store.
¼ cup of shea butter
1/8 cup of almond oil
1 tablespoon of beeswax
10 drops of myrrh essential oil
10 drops of cedar wood essential oil
Take a glass bowl or glass measuring cup and melt the shea butter, almond oil, and beeswax together on medium heat. Make sure to stir well to make sure it all melts.
After it’s melted remove the mixture from the heat and then let it cool for about 10 minutes.
Once it’s cooled off go ahead and add the essential oils and then pour the lotion into a small glass container and let it sit for a few hours before using it.
Once it’s ready you can apply this wonderful homemade hand lotion to your hands as often as you need. The skin on your hands will love you for it.
Here’s another great homemade hand lotion that smells wonderful and works great for really dry skin on your hands.
Homemade Lavender Hand Lotion
1/3 cup of almond oil
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
2 tablespoons of olive oil
3 tablespoons of beeswax grated
35 drops of lavender essential oil
Take and combine the different oils in a saucepan and then heat them over a medium heat just till they get warm. This usually takes about five minutes. Then remove it from the heat and add the grated beeswax and stir until it’s all melted.
After that put the mixture in the fridge for about 10 minutes or until the oils cool off and then take and add the 35 drops of lavender essential oil and mix well. Once you’ve done that you can put the lotion into a container and once it’s cooled off totally it’s ready to use.
Finally here is one of my favorite homemade hand lotions made with a variety of wonderful essential oils. This is a homemade lotion that even kids will love to use.
Essential Oils Hand Lotion
1 ounce of vitamin E oil
4 ounces almond oil
1 ounce of beeswax
1 ounce of jojoba oil
1 ounce of coconut oil
1 teaspoon of oil of calendula
1/8 teaspoon of oil of chamomile
1/8 teaspoon of oil of rose geranium
Take and combine the vitamin E and almond oils together in a saucepan. Heat this over low heat and don’t let it come to a boil. Then you can gradually add the beeswax making sure to stir constantly. Then add the jojoba oil, just a little at a time and stir until it’s all blended well. Next slowly stir in your coconut oil.
Next take the saucepan off the heat. Add your calendula, rose geranium, and chamomile oils and mix until it’s nice and smooth.
After your mixture has cooled off pout it into either a large jar or several smaller ones. This is one you want to keep in the fridge because it will last longer.
This is a great working homemade hand lotion and can even be used on the skin of your face as well. So enjoy! It also makes a wonderful gift.
That’s it for this time. Hope you’ll give these recipes a try and see how your skin will love these natural skincare lotions.
