Homemade Vanilla Lotion

Here’s a great smelling lotion that wonderful for the skin all over and your body will be thanking you for it. Here’s what this wonderful homemade and natural lotion contains:

Carrier Oil – This can be any oil that’s considered a carrier oil. The main thing that carrier oils do are moisturize. Some of the carrier oils you can choose from are castor oil, apricot seed oil, jojoba, olive oil and grapeseed oil. It’s your choice.

Coconut Oil – This is a great natural oil that is an anti-bacterial, anti-microbial, and anti-viral and it does a great job at protecting your skin from sunburn. It can actually block 20% of the UV rays you get from the sun. It’s a wonderful addition to a homemade lotion.

Beeswax – This is a natural emollient and it helps to lock in the moisture in your skin and it gives you a nice protective barrier from harsh conditions like extreme cold and heat. This is always a must to have around, it works wonders when it comes to skincare.

Shea Butter – This item has anti-inflammatory properties and it also can help to protect against getting a sunburn. It also helps to heal minor cuts and burns. Another great thing about it is that it also moisturizes.

Vanilla – Just the scent of vanilla gives us a lot of benefits. They say that the fragrance of vanilla can actually help to reduce your anxiety and stress. Some even say it could be an aphrodisiac, but I like it because it just makes the homemade lotion smell wonderful.

You can buy all of these items in health food stores or specialty shops.

Now, let’s get down to the actual recipe for this homemade lotion:

Ingredients:

¼ cup of your favorite carrier oil

2 tablespoons of coconut oil

1 ounce of beeswax

2 teaspoons of shea butter

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Directions:

Take the carrier oil, coconut oil, beeswax and the shea butter and put them all in a glass bowl or a measuring cup and then put this inside of one of your sauce pans. Put enough water in the saucepan to where the water touches the bottom of your bowl or measuring cup. Just make sure that there isn’t too much water in it to where it can spill out.

Next turn your stove on medium heat and stir all the ingredients together well until they are melted and combined. This could take a little bit of time because beeswax can take awhile to melt fully.

Once it’s all melted and blended well remove it from the heat and then stir in your vanilla.

Make sure to have a nice container waiting for your homemade lotion and put the lotion in the container and let it cool to room temperature before using it.

This homemade lotion will last about three months kept at room temperature.

Here’s a nice sunscreen lotion you can make at home in your own kitchen. Not only is it good for protecting your skin it also makes a nice overall body lotion to include in your skincare routine.

Simple Homemade Moisturizer

Here’s an extremely quick and easy homemade moisturizer that you can easily make and be using shortly after you’re done making it. This is a great one to always have around for your skincare routine.

Ingredients:

½ cup of shea butter

1 tablespoon of almond oil

1 tablespoon of jojoba oil

10 to 15 drops of your favorite essential oils

Instructions:

Just melt the shea butter and the other two oils together by combining them in a bowl and then putting them in a saucepan with some water. Or you can just melt them together in a pan on low heat. Up to you.

Once they are melted then put the bowl in your refrigerator to cool down for about 15 minutes. Keep watch on it because you don’t want it to fully harden. Next take the essential oils and add it to the mixture with a mixer and mix the ingredients until it’s nice and creamy. This could take a couple of minutes.

When done just put the lotion in a small jar and it’s ready to use.

Well, those are some of my favorites that I love to make and I always like to make sure that I have these around and available to use with my skincare routine. Hope you’ll enjoy them as well.
